Poultry

Six farms were established in HADCO in 1988. The parent farms area is 5 km2 located at the eastern part of HADCO project site. The total capacity of the parent farm is 215,000 hens per year to produce not less than 31 million fertile eggs per year.

HADCO Hatchery was established in 1988. The hatchery area is one square km. Located at the eastern part of HADCO Parent site. The hatchery capacity is 12 million chicks per year.

Expansion in parent farms led to the increase in the hatchery capacity to reach 24 million chicks per year. The hatchery have 32 setters and 18 hatchers.

The broiler farms are located at the western north of HADCO project site 25 km. from the parent farms and hatchery. The broiler project has commenced operation since 1988. The capacity of the project was 10 million birds/year at that time. Further expansion was made to reach 20 million birds/year in six cycles.

HADCO slaughterhouse was established in 1988. The capacity was 4000 birds/h at that time. All equipments and installations were done by MEYN Company which is one of the most well known companies in this filed. The slaughterhouse is located at the western part of HADCO. Further expansion has taken place to reach 6000 birds/h.

All slaughtering and preparations procedures are done according to the Islamic sharia laws and the Saudi Standards Organization together with the ISO 9002 and HACCP prerequisites.

The Slaughterhouse is managed and maintained by a qualified team including the section Head, the maintenance team, 8 Supervisors, and 153 trained slaughterhouse laborers.
